| sunday night soup by Chris June 29, 2008 |
this started out being a light, vegetable soup based on the lovely seasonal sweetcorn that we've been enjoying. Lots of diced veges including the corn, some zucchini, red capsicum, onion and peas.
Then enjoyed Emily's suggestion of poaching some pork and chive dumplings in the broth. Delicious and filling. |

| Okay it was hamburger helper but it was consumed with nutritious broccoli. Yes hh is lame and not very healthy but it has carbohydrates and a lot of protein..which I need ’cause I’m working out hard at the gym again - squatted 205lbs today for 4 reps, whee. feels great. |

Added a diced, seeded tomato, 10 eggs, 1/2 cup cream and 200g smoked salmon.
topped with grated Parmesan cheese.

| Panfried sirloin tip steak by Chris June 19, 2008 |
Simple red meat and some veggies. Added little bit of salt and pepper. A tasty & quick meal rich in protein.
My doctor keeps telling me to stay away from red meat - says no more than 6 ounces a week or something (about half the width of a woman’s palm). Well I had a little bit more than that but at least didn’t go hog wild on a nasty big slab of deliciousness.
Don’t get me wrong, I love meat...but I dislike heart disease more. *sigh* |

Used the rest of the chook for stock - its green pea soup later this week :) |

| corned beef...mmmm...salty goodness by Chris June 12, 2008 |
| Is corned beef a uniquely Australian phenomena? I used to look for it unsuccessfully in the UK. Basically beef pickled in brine, boiled to cook (and remove the brine). Served with the traditional white sauce and three veg. Lotsapans in this one, so you know that I didn't make it... a DH special. |

| Subway: Turkey Breast sub combo by Chris June 6, 2008 |
on Parmesan-Oregano bread. It was kinda nasty.
I don't like subway anymore..don't think I ever did actually. I remember it was a big thing when Subway made its way into Thunder Bay eons ago..they don't cut their bread in that legacy V shape anymore..perhaps it was the thunder bay wobbly pops that made their subs so good or just the newness of the place. I remember eating two 12" in a row once. |

No dill, so I substituted a small amount of basil - it is well 'wintered' and has quite an anise flavor at this stage. |
